how to do max training

using maximum energy

To use this method, you need :

  • horse in E.C. with very clean meadows and carrots
  • salt stone
  • turnips

To train your horse faster, you need to save his energy during his day as to use the maximum energy for training...

You have to count how much your horse uses energy during his day, and try to make this number as high as possible !

For the moment, max reached of 132% energy used...
(by Karana 2008/03/21) => Karana's method

If you find a method to do more, without earning extra energy (like sugar or beetroot), no overfeeding (impossible to overfeed every day) and ending day before 22:00 with at least 20% energy, do send a message to CraXoR !

technical infos:

Horse must have at least 20% energy left at the end of the day, and put to bed at 22.00, not after !

Always put your horse in pasture for the night
If you put your horse for the night :
- in the box => he will have 89% energy next morning
- in pasture => he will have 94% energy next morning

Usually a horse has 95% morale when he wakes up.
If your horse has no blanket, and temperature is less than 10° when you put him to bed, he will have less morale next day - But you can easily recover this morale with lessons.

tips for energy control

SALT STONE
energy gain is = 0,03 X the energy horse already has
maximum energy gain = 3%

BOX, MEADOW, FOOD
energy gain is higher when energy is already high !
never put in box or meadow, or give food, when energy is low.... you would get a ridiculous energy gain !

STROKING
energy gain is = 6 - (0,06 X the energy horse already has)
Stroke 2 times when energy = 0% gives 11.6% energy !

technical infos:

FIXED ENERGY GAINS
- carrot = +4% energy
- turnip = +10% energy
- drink = +2% energy

FIXED ENERGY LOSS
- one lesson = - 15% energy
- covering = -25% energy

tips to succeed

- Training, rides, competitions must not end later than 21:15 and make energy go down to 0%
=> You end your horse's day by 2 strokes + 1 turnip (which takes 45 minutes), as to raise energy to 20% at 22:.00

- Try to plan training, rides and competitions, as to use maximum energy, and end close to 21:15, but not after.

- Be careful to have 100% morale before starting training, rides, or competitions in order to loose less energy, or to have better results in competitions

- Be careful to have 100% health before starting training, rides, or competitions, otherwise your horse will loose Skill Gain (and he will never make it up afterwards)

- Put your horse in BOX for one hour (depending on what training you have decided to do) in the morning, when energy is high (to incresase energy gain)

technical infos:

DURATION OF COMPETITIONS
=> Jumping = 1h30
=> Galloping or Trotting = 1h45
=> Cross country = 2h

COMPETITION ENERGY LOSS
- Trotting, Galloping : % given when registering horse
- Cross Country : % raises with % difficulty
- Jumping : % raises with % difficulty

DURATION AND ENERGY LOSS WITH TRAINING
(when morale = 100%)
For 30 minutes training, energy loss is :
=> -5% for dressage
=> -7% for galloping, trotting, jumping
=> -8% for speed, stamina

CraXoR's method

First example

Always put horse in pasture for the night.

Raise energy to 100%
(with pasture + salt stone)
If meadows are the cleanest, it will take 1h30 to get 4% energy.
If meadows not clean, leave the horse more time (you have to test the meadow before to see how much energy is earned per hour).

Training
- Calculate time left to end training at 21:15
- Choose training, competitions, rides, to use max energy, as to have energy = 0% (or lowest as possible) at the end, during the time left.

Raising energy to 20% minimum before putting to bed
- as energy is 0%, stroking 2 times will give max energy : +11.5%
- adding a turnip : +10%

Total energy used = 120.7%

second example

Puting horse in box when he has already energy increases energy gain
=> Put your horse in box in the morning, not in the evening !

Grooming after putting horse in box, to raise morale !

Giving food when he has already energy increases energy gain
=> give food when energy is around 85% to have the highest energy gain

(that's why I separate the 2 lessons...)

Total energy used = 122% !

Craquotte's method

original method

* Sleep in pasture
* 21:30 : drink (morale : +0, energy : +2)
* 21:15 : carrot (morale : +0, energy : +4)
* 21:00 : salt lick (morale : +0, energy : +0.5)
* 20:45 : Grooming (morale : +0)
* 20:15 : Stroke (energy : +5.4)
* 20:00 : Stroke (energy : +5.7)
* 19:45 : Training 6 h 30 (energy : -91), for speed and stamina = 5h30
* 13:15 : Feed 15p forage and max granules (energy : +17.4). 96% energy +/-
* turnip energy = 78% +/- (morale : +0.4, energy : +10)
* lesson (energy : -15, morale : +3) energy => 68% +/-
* lesson (energy : -15, morale : +3)
* 10:30 : 2h30 box, energy 98, 99% (energy : +4.3, morale : -1.4)

* 08:00 : wake up !!!!

NOTES FROM CraXoR

Good method if you plan to do only training
(no rides, no competitions)

2h30 box in the morning... I prefer 1h30 in the pasture, as it gives free food... and as much as energy

Grooming when morale is already 100%.... gives no morale gain...

Salt lick when energy is very low, gives very little energy... here only 0.5 !

CraXoR's adaptation

Pasture + salt stone in the morning => energy 100%

2 lessons

turnip + food (needed 15.5p - 4p = 11.9p ok) => energy 95.1%

box + grooming => energy 98.8%

Full training to end at 21:15 with at least 3% energy
Very important if you want to have at least 20% energy before 22.00... here I had 4.8%

2 strokes + carrot + drink = 17.1%

End of the day : energy 21.9%

Total energy used = 124% !

avalonauggie's adaptation

Pasture + salt stone in the morning => energy 100%

2 lessons

turnip + food (needed 15.5p - 4p = 11.9p ok) => energy 95.1%

box (2 hours) + grooming
=> energy 98.5%

Full training ended at 20:00 with 2.4% energy

2 strokes + carrot + drink = 17.4%

Box 1 hour = 0.3%
(the better would have to put in box earlier, to get more energy...)

End of the day : energy 19.8%
(it's a bit less than 20%, but have no effect on the next day energy...)

Total energy used = 126.1% !

thanx to avalonauggie !

Raventyde's adaptation

Pasture + salt stone in the morning => energy 100%

2 lessons

turnip + food (11.9p ok) => energy 95.1%

box (3 hours) + grooming => energy 99.9%

Full training ended at 19.00 with 2.4% energy

2 strokes + carrot + drink = 19.8%

Box 2 hours = 0.7%

End of the day : energy 20.5%

Total energy used = 127.5% !

thanx to Raventyde !

Alinda's adaptation

Important : Box space = 81%

Pasture + salt stone in the morning => energy 100%

1 lesson

food (11.9p ) => energy=100%

1 lesson

carrot + drink

box (5 hours) + grooming => energy 99.2%

Full training = galloping rides, ended at 21.15 with 0.2% energy

2 strokes + turnip = 21.6%

End of the day : energy 21.8%

Total energy used = 129% !

thanx to Alinda !

Important: If Box space is less than 81%, you get less than 8.2% energy in 5 hours box, and will have to change the end of the program :
Example with Box space= 67%
Box (5 hours) => energy 98.5%

End of training : You don't have 33% energy to do 1h ride, do only 30mn, and stroke one time before ending training,

End of the day : energy 20.2%

Total energy used = 129% !

Castanea's adaptation

Important : Box space = 81% ?

box (2 hours) in the morning => energy 97.8%

1 lesson

food (15p ) => energy=100%

1 lesson

carrot + drink + salt stone

box (3 hours) + grooming => energy 99.4%

Full training = rides on hilly land and galloping rides, ended at 20.45 with 4.1% energy

2 strokes + turnip = 21.1%
=> energy = 25.2%

training dressage = -5%

End of the day : energy 20.2%

Total energy used = 130.3% !

thanx to Castanea !

Karana's adaptation

Important : Box space = 89%

Pasture + salt stone in the morning => energy 100%

1 lesson

food (13.9p ) => energy=100%
(1.9% energy wasted.... could have fed less)

1 lesson

carrot

box (6 hours) + grooming => energy 99.2%

Full training = rides on hilly lands, ended at 20.30 with 10.7% energy

1 stroke => energy 16.1%

ride in trotting => energy 2.6%

1 stroke + drink + turnip = 17.8%

End of the day : energy 20.4%

Total energy used = 132% !

thanx to Karana!

Tips from other breeders

LordoftheDragons

On your training methods section, you had stroking twice and then a turnip as the way to finish up the day.

Just wanted to add that Stroke, carrot, turnip gives exactly 20 energy if you end at 0%.

So if your horse had a little more than 1% energy after a bunch of training, you could stroke, train in galloping for 30 minutes, then stroke, carrot, turnip.

NOTES FROM CraXoR

If 1% remaining after training :
Stroke gives : (6 - 0.06X1) = 5.94% + 1 = 6,94% < 7%
You might need more than 1%, like 1.1%
Stroke gives : (6 - 0.06X1.1) = 5.93% + 1.1 = 7.03%

After a training using 7%, remains 1.03%
Stroke gives : 5.94% + Carrot : 4% + turnip : 10% = 19.94%
